This camp introduces the basic tools of performance through engaging theatre games, acting exercises, and performance opportunities. Campers will even work together to create an original script showcasing what they learned throughout the week!

Improv is an art form where the performers make up the theatre, on the spot. Through the use of improvisational games and valuable improv techniques, this class encourages campers to become more spontaneous, creative, playful, and imaginative, all while developing valuable performance and interpersonal skills.

This acting intensive will explore the nuances between acting for the stage and acting for camera while providing valuable training that focuses on improving key performance aspects such as emotion, voice, body movement, speech, creativity, imagination, characterization, and audition technique. This camp helps to prepare the actor for whatever type of work may come their way.

The New York Film Academy’s 1-Week Online Summer Filmmaking Camp introduces kids to the world of filmmaking and provides a fun and supportive environment to help them explore their passion for visual storytelling. Similar to all NYFA programs, our kids filmmaking camp emphasizes learning by doing, and students work with their own digital cameras, such as an iPhone, and learn how to compose, direct, light and edit for quality images.

In NYFA’s summer film camp for kids, students aged 10-13 learn to write and direct their own films and video content. This dynamic program provides students with the opportunity to gain actual filmmaking experience, following NYFA’s learn-by-doing approach.

During the level two film camp for kids, students who have already attended NYFA in a prerequisite camp may return to gain additional experience in filmmaking. Through actual on-set experience, students aged 10-13 quickly build upon their creative and technical skills while making their own unique film content.

Throughout their time at the summer online acting for film camp, students will study fundamental acting techniques and practice them in front of their peers. By the end of camp, kids will gain a better understanding of the acting craft and the opportunity to showcase their own filmed monologues and scenes.

During NYFA’s level two kids film camp, students who have completed a prerequisite program may return to advance their filmmaking skills. This hands-on, one-week camp gives students aged 10-13 the opportunity to complete their own film project and study additional filmmaking disciplines, including cinematography, screenwriting, and directing.
