Improv Comedy is a performance art where actors play games and create scenes based on audience suggestions. Players are challenged to think quickly and make things up on the spot! It’s a great way to sharpen listening skills, learn teamwork and collaboration, practice public speaking, and laugh! The coach will teach campers about Scene Building, Character Work, Object Work, and Group Games. Previous performing experience is not necessary. Come and have FUN!

During our 2-week online summer camp, kids bring their stories to life and learn how to compose, direct, light and edit for quality images. In the first week, campers create a short silent continuity film, working with their own digital cameras, such as an iPhone. In the second week, students build upon their knowledge to create a film of greater complexity, to be viewed at their end of camp screening.

The New York Film Academy’s 2-week Online Acting For Film Camp gives kids the chance to discover or hone their acting chops. Throughout their time at the summer online acting for film camp, students will study fundamental acting techniques and practice them in front of their peers. By the end of camp, kids will gain a better understanding of the acting craft and the opportunity to showcase their own filmed monologues and scenes.
