The HOBY Missouri State Leadership Seminar

The HOBY Missouri State Leadership Seminar is designed to help high school sophomores recognize their leadership talents and apply them to become effective, ethical leaders in their home, school, workplace and community. Selected students attend our three day overnight seminar where they participate in hands-on leadership activities, meet leaders from throughout Missouri, and explore their own personal leadership skills – all while learning how to lead others and make a positive impact in their community. The seminar curriculum develops leadership from three perspectives: Personal Leadership, Group Leadership, and Leadership for Society. A student can attend the HOBY Missouri State Leadership Seminar by being nominated by their school, nominated by a community member or by a parent nomination. The nominator must fill out a nomination form for the student and afterwards, the parent(s) and student will officially register by filling out a separate registration form. A student only needs one nomination. The selected student MUST be a rising Junior (the Seminar would take place the summer after their sophomore year). Space is limited, so we have a guaranteed acceptance date of Friday, December 8, 2023. After December 8, 2023, nominations will be accepted as space is available and as timing allows.Fees are $300 prior to Dec 8 and $325 after Dec 8. Two additional students from each school may also attend for a fee of $350 each. Fees are $395 per student for community/parent nominations.HOBY offers scholarships and financial aid upon request.
