Contemporary Modern 1

There are many different modern dance techniques that students will learn in these classes, including Graham, Horton, and Contract-Release. Contemporary dance is a fusion of styles of modern dance and other movement techniques, often with a heavy emphasis on Release Technique while maintaining a foundation in Modern dance. As students progress through our Modern Contemporary Curriculum, they will increase awareness of correct physical alignment, gain strength, and improve coordination while learning to use purposeful weight placement to initiate different movements.
