Mizzou Engineering offers a variety of experiences for third graders through high school students who are interested in exploring the field and want to experience life as a Mizzou Engineer. Build an underwater robot that you will test in a pool on the last day of camp.

Become a young plant detective as we head out to the garden with our magnifying glasses to discover the many things that are hanging around in the garden including man-made things, natural items like plants, seeds, and tiny living creatures.

Join us for a week of fun where kids get to create cool, personalized keychains and learn essential typing skills! In this camp, campers will explore their creativity by designing and making their very own keychains using beads, string, and lanyards. Alongside their crafting, campers will also learn the fundamentals of typing, practicing proper finger placement and speed through engaging games and activities. By the end of the camp, they'll leave with a collection of fun keychains and improved typing skills.

Through role-play and activities, students will learn the key responsibilities of a doctor and explore the heart, lungs, and digestion. Students will use real medical instruments (stethoscope, reflex hammer, and blood pressure cuff) and practice scrubbing, suturing, and tying knots like a real surgeon. These future doctors will learn about prescriptions, explore the brain and spine, and learn about vital bodily functions through hands-on activities and role-play. Students will build a first aid kit and create models of the brain and spine. Students will also explore the human optical system and different parts of the ear.

This summer course is designed to teach beginning robotics students how to experiment with the application of simple machines in a robotic environment. Each student will be assigned his/her own WEDO LEGO robot to use. Participants will learn the core concepts of robot design and WEDO programming. This program is designed for the students who love to tinker and build things that move. Our goal is to make science, technology, engineering and mathematics irresistibly FUN. This exciting and educational Tuskegee Airmen created program teaches students the basics of programming & flying drones. It is designed for kids of all ages interested in technology, engineering & aviation. Students will learn how to program & fly drones, as well as understand the mechanics behind them, while also learning about safety, regulations & ethical considerations. The camp provides a fun & challenging environment for kids to develop skills & knowledge while encouraging teamwork, creativity & problem-solving abilities. With experienced instructors, this camp is the perfect opportunity for children to explore their interests & discover new passions.

After “adopting” their very own plush puppy, students will role- play the key responsibilities of a veterinarian, including how to properly perform a nose-to-tail exam. These future veterinarians will learn how to sew stitches, remove ticks, make healthy treats, and vaccinate their dog. Students will role-play the key staff functions performed at a veterinary office and how to keep their “adopted” plush puppy healthy. These future veterinarians will explore digestion, the different parts of the canine eye, animal body language and how X-rays are used to diagnose and treat common illnesses.

Students will meet firefighters from the Union Fire Protection District, learn about fire safety and learn about possible careers as a firefighter. Parents can stay with students. (Ages 5 – 8)

Roll up your sleeves, put on your makers cap, and get ready to create! This is our most hands-on camp! Who can build the strongest bridge? Can your bridge withstand the shake rattle and roll challenge? Explore the world of birds and beasts. Discover what Hooty the owl had for dinner? Kids will dissect owl pellets and reconstruct Hooty’s dinner. Enter the Mad Science chemistry lab and mix, mash, and brew concoctions! Assemble and control pulleys, levers, catapults, simple machines, and megapinchers! Campers will discover the wonders of light and photography. It’s a week packed with non-stop science fun!

The YMCA & Edwardsville Arts Center have partnered for many summers to offer fine art classes. We focus on creating, but also engage in gallery visits, building habits & art discussions.

At the Do Art Productions Comic Book Camp, explore the many different angles and tools of comics and self expression. Each day you will explore a different aspect of comics from paneling, to character, to plot. Learn about the different aspects of inspiration and expression. By the end, we will have created many of our own comics. Our goal is to show gratitude in being ourselves and to explore the creativity that can sprout from expressing this. Everyone will receive stickers, bookmarks, and a variety of other materials to further their comic creations. All art supplies included. No experience necessary.
