The Indiana Wesleyan University School of Nursing is excited to present a summer nursing camp experience. Immerse yourself in the career of nursing with hands-on, interactive opportunities through skills development, simulations, CPR and first aid training. You will also hear from guest speakers who are leaders in the nursing field. As a high school student considering a career in nursing, you will be exposed to numerous areas: transcultural, geriatric, maternal/child, surgery and more. One unique component of this experience includes a guided cadaver lab tour, where students will view preserved human organs and, with additional permission, have the option to observe a full human donor body. This powerful educational opportunity enhances understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and the complexity of the body’s systems—providing a rare and respectful look into real-life nursing education. The DeVoe School of Business Camp at the Wildcat Summer Academy is a dynamic, hands-on program designed for high school students interested in the world of business, leadership, technology, and innovation. Students gain an authentic college-level experience while exploring how business principles shape real organizations—and how faith, integrity, and purpose can guide leadership within a Christian higher education setting.

Discover the power of your voice and learn to tell the stories that matter. In this three-day journalism camp, you'll travel into the world of news and storytelling. Work with journalism pros to learn how to write attention-grabbing and meaningful articles, conduct interviews, and capture the perfect photo for your story. Youll team up with other high school students to create your own news pieces. Guest speakers will share what it's really like to work in media and why journalism is so important. By the end, you'll walk away with new skills and collaborators, and your vey own finished project.

What would the world be like without large structures? We would need to take ferries across every river because there would be no bridges. We wouldn’t have stores, school buildings, large office buildings, stadiums, etc. Large structures are everywhere, and civil engineers must ensure that they remain safe and that the materials that make up structures have expected strengths. In this camp, participants will learn about structures and materials they are made of through engaging hands-on projects. It is anticipated that students will compete to build the strongest model structure or the strongest concrete beam. Students will gain a fresh understanding and appreciation of the structures they use every day. No prior experience is required.

Join us for a one-day, fun-filled pharmacy camp in June! Take part in making actual medicine in the compounding lab. Hear from community pharmacists about their daily roles. Interact with clinical pharmacists in specialty practices such as oncology, pediatrics, cardiology, emergency room and more. Learn from School of Pharmacy faculty and students about what it's like to be a member of UMKC at all three campus locations.
