Xploration Manufacturing and Trades

College for Kids presents Xploration-Manufacturing and Trades, a unique opportunity for youth, ages 12-16, to explore careers in a variety of trade and manufacturing industries in a college environment. Taught by instructors with years of industry experience as well as current industry professionals, students will experience class curriculum/key job components in hands-on, small group cohorts which rotate each day through modules including:  drone operations with hands-on flying lessons, basic electricity, various electronics, aerospace sheet metal and composites, general maintenance mechanics, industrial maintenance mechanics, welding, and HVAC. Participants will learn about aerospace fasteners including hands-on installation, carbon fiber composite lay-up activities, blueprint reading, plumbing and pipefitting with welding techniques in a virtual setting.
